Open Call

OPEN CALL — Tallinn Architecture Biennale 2026

The Tallinn Architecture Biennale 2026 (TAB 2026) invites architects, designers, artists, researchers, journalists, collectives, and other spatial practitioners to submit all kinds of proposals regarding the events and exhibitions in the TAB framework.

HOW MUCH?

TAB 2026 is curated around the central question How much?, examining the paradoxical notion of cheapness in architecture: its promise of accessibility and efficiency on the one hand, and its hidden social, ecological, and temporal costs on the other. The Biennale situates architectural production within conditions of scarcity, constraint, and affordability, while critically interrogating the illusion of cheapness generated by market-driven, extractive logics.

Rather than framing architecture through binaries such as cheap/expensive or good/bad, TAB 2026 seeks contributions that expose, question, subvert or reimagine value in architecture — economic, material, social, environmental, and cultural.

Reflecting on the topic we advance, TAB ‘26 operates itself under budgetary constraints. Accordingly, the call is directed toward already existing work in relation to the theme that is financed through other bodies. Depending on each proposal, we are determined to find fitting inclusion in format and kind of collaboration.
