Open House Tartu

Open House is a global urban space festival. It will take place in Tartu for the second time. During the weekend, at least 18 buildings will open their doors to visitors.

This is a rare chance to join free guided tours of public buildings, as well as special office and industrial buildings.

The guided tours offer a fresh look at Tartu’s buildings, including for people who live here. The tours will cover architecture and the urban scape—both past and present—the significance of these buildings for city residents, and the future of the city.

The programme, with tours for visitors of different ages and interests, will be announced in August. Some tours will require advance registration.

The tours are prepared with the help of people closely connected to the buildings, including architects, historians and tenants. The guides and their assistants are volunteers.
